Customized Downspout Boots

Architects and owners often look for ways to bring character and individuality to their new building projects. Incorporating custom elements to the appearance of a building contributes to the originality of its design and helps build the institutional or corporate identity of the building. 
   
Our cast iron downspout boots are offered with corporate logos, lettering or custom designs to be cast into the top bell or front panel of the downspout boot. This customization offers a genuinely original design feature and a distinctive aesthetic element to any building.
 
 
How do we do it?
 
We use the latest technology in pattern making and metal casting to manufacture custom downspout boots. The first step is converting a 2 dimensional graphic or logo into a 3 dimensional solid model using 3D modeling software. The model is then converted onto our digital router table to create a composite insert plate featuring the desired logo or artwork, which is secured onto the downspout boot patterns. Once the custom insert is on the patterns, the molding sand conforms to the custom design and the mold is poured with hot iron. The result is a beautiful logo or design cast into the downspout boot.
 
 
How large is the increase to Cost and Lead Time?
 
The downside to product customization is often the premium cost and additional lead time required to make the product. At J.R. Hoe, however, we make specialized products every day for a wide range of customers in various industries – It’s What We Do! So for a typical order of custom downspout boots there would be a one-time pattern charge of around $250, although if the order quantity is significant we will waive any pattern charges. The lead time is only increased by 1 or 2 days.
